Enhanced GPS Offering
Standard GPS Users can upgrade to the Enhanced GPS within the GHIN Mobile App:
Terms of Enhanced GPS Offering:
Standard GPS users can upgrade to GHIN Enhanced GPS for $39.99 for an annual subscription. The subscription will be charged to your Apple/Google account at confirmation of purchase and will automatically renew yearly, unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Golfers can manage their subscription and/or turn off auto-renewal by visiting their iTunes Account Settings after purchase.
The *Enhanced GPS features that are available via an in-app purchase are:
*Please note the following images/videos were created within the "Course Maps & GPS" section so Par/Stroke Index data will not appear in the below images/videos, neither will the "pencil" icon in the bottom right portion of the map screen. That information will display when the user goes down "Play with GPS" or accesses the GPS feature from the "Post Score" section.
- Distances to the Front & Back of Green
- Shot Tracking
To utilize shot tracking, clubs must be set up in the 'My Golf Bag' section, located under the 'Enhanced GPS' option located within the 'More...' tab along the bottom of the home screen. Users can swap in/out clubs in their current bag and update approximate yardages for each club. Completed Shot Tracking rounds can be viewed within the 'Shot Tracking' menu option.
Once established, golfers will be able to select clubs via the 'Bag' icon located in the lower left-hand portion of the screen when 'Playing with GPS'. Users select their initial club for the hole, proceed to hit and then find their way to their tee shot
Click the icon in the left-hand corner to confirm distance for the first shot and select 'Next Shot'. Users then select the club for the following shot as they did previously.
Continue this sequence until you reach the green. Once you select 'Putter' for club selection, users will then indicate Total Number of Putts. Once number of putts is entered, users then indicate where their putt(s) were located on the green. After placing putt locations, select ‘Save’ to be brought to the Scorecard. After entering that hole’s score, golfers will proceed to the next hole and continue.
- Ability to Set/Move Hole Location
To re-locate a specific hole location, tap on the flag icon located on the green of any given hole. You will then be brought to a view in which you can tap-to-select a precise hole location for the green. Select 'save' to save the new location.
- Approach Heat Map
To access the Approach Heat Map, toggle from the 'Hole View' to the 'Green View' on any given hole. The default view will be set to the 'Heat Map':
- Putt Break Map
To access the Approach Heat Map, toggle from the 'Hole View' to the 'Green View' on any given hole. Users will then need to toggle from 'Heat Map' to 'Putt Map' to view the Putt Break Map.
- Report an Issue / Contact GPS Support
If a user needs to contact GPS support at any point while 'Playing with GPS' or viewing a Course Map, they can contact Support by selection the Gear Wheel in the upper right-hand corner:
Additionally, users have the ability to toggle on/off various features (Distance to Green, Holes Location, GPS Target Distance & Auto Advance View)
Users will then have the option to contact GPS support via three options (Report an Issue, GPS Feedback, General GPS Question):
